By accessing or using Edudent's online tutoring platform ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use our Service. These Terms apply to all users, including students, parents, guardians, and tutors.

2. Service Description

Edudent provides online tutoring services including:

• One-on-one and group tutoring sessions in O Level and A Level subjects
• Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Advanced Mathematics
• Guidance counselling and academic planning
• Study materials and educational resources
• Progress tracking and assessment tools
• Video conferencing and interactive learning tools

3. User Accounts and Registration

3.1 Account Creation

• You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
• One account per person; multiple accounts are prohibited

3.2 Age Requirements

• Students under 13 require parental consent and supervision
• Students 13-17 may use the service with parental approval
• Parents/guardians are responsible for monitoring their child's use of the service
• We may verify age and parental consent at any time

4. Booking and Scheduling

4.1 Session Booking

• Sessions must be booked at least 24 hours in advance
• All sessions are conducted online via our platform
• Session duration is typically 60 minutes unless otherwise specified
• You may book multiple sessions in advance

4.2 Cancellation and Rescheduling

• Cancellations made 24+ hours before session: Full refund
• Cancellations made 2-24 hours before session: 50% refund
• Cancellations made less than 2 hours before session: No refund
• Rescheduling is allowed up to 2 hours before the session
• No-shows will be charged the full session fee

5. Payment Terms

5.1 Pricing and Payment

• All prices are in USD unless otherwise specified
• Payment is required before each session or in advance for packages
• We accept major credit cards, PayPal, and bank transfers
• Prices may change with 30 days' notice

5.2 Refunds

• Refunds are processed within 5-10 business days
• Refund eligibility is subject to our cancellation policy
• Technical issues preventing session delivery qualify for full refunds
• Refunds are issued to the original payment method

6. Session Conduct and Behavior

6.1 Student Responsibilities

• Arrive on time and prepared for each session
• Maintain respectful and professional communication
• Follow the tutor's instructions and guidance
• Complete assigned homework and practice exercises
• Report any technical issues immediately

6.2 Prohibited Behavior

• Inappropriate, offensive, or discriminatory language
• Sharing inappropriate content or materials
• Recording sessions without explicit consent
• Attempting to circumvent platform security
• Sharing account credentials with others
• Any form of harassment or bullying

7. Academic Integrity

• We promote genuine learning and understanding
• Tutors will not complete assignments for students
• We encourage critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Plagiarism and academic dishonesty are strictly prohibited
• We support students in developing independent learning skills

8. Intellectual Property

8.1 Student Work

• Students retain ownership of their original work
• We may use anonymized examples for educational purposes
• Students grant us a license to use their work for platform improvement

8.2 Platform Content

• All platform content, including materials and software, is owned by Edudent
• Users may not copy, distribute, or modify platform content
• Educational materials are for personal use only

9. Privacy and Data Protection

• We collect and process personal data as described in our Privacy Policy
• Session recordings require explicit consent from all participants
• We comply with GDPR, COPPA, and other applicable privacy laws
• Parents have access to their child's educational data
• We implement appropriate security measures to protect your data

10. Technical Requirements

• Stable internet connection (minimum 1 Mbps upload/download)
• Computer, tablet, or smartphone with camera and microphone
• Compatible web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge)
• Quiet, well-lit environment for sessions
• We are not responsible for technical issues on your end

11. Liability and Disclaimers

11.1 Educational Outcomes

• We do not guarantee specific academic results or grades
• Student success depends on effort, engagement, and individual factors
• We provide educational support but cannot guarantee exam outcomes

11.2 Service Availability

• We strive for 99% uptime but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service
• We are not liable for technical failures or internet connectivity issues
• We may suspend service for maintenance with reasonable notice

12. Termination and Suspension

12.1 Account Termination

• You may terminate your account at any time
• We may terminate accounts for violations of these Terms
• Termination does not affect your obligation to pay outstanding fees
• We will provide reasonable notice before termination when possible

12.2 Data Retention

• We retain account data for 2 years after termination
• Session recordings are deleted after 90 days unless requested otherwise
• You may request data deletion at any time

13. Dispute Resolution

• We encourage resolving disputes through direct communication
• Unresolved disputes will be handled through binding arbitration
